Downhouse Coffee Bar Restaurant

Sunday morning we went to Downhouse off Yale street in the Heights.

I got the biscuit and gravy with a scrambled egg.

Bryan got the pork hash with a side of bacon for Beau.

I thought the service was kind of slow, but we were also trying to keep Beau entertained so that might of made time crawl.

Mine could've been hotter.

I'd like to go again but next time try their lunch menu.

You're a Star! Star Pizza, That Is

Oh mama! Talk about delicious. We found our new pizza place. And they deliver. Yes you heard that correctly.

Working with two locations, Star 1 and Star 2 has got it going on.

We got the deep dish pepperoni, and as you can see, it's deep.
They also have this cooked garlic. Good going in not so fun coming out. But who cares!

This is now Bryan's place for guy night.

Annie the Celebrity

Whew! You can tell school is starting as I haven't written on this blog in awhile. But this news was too good not to document.

On Friday, Bryan got home from work, the usual, and took Hank and Annie out for their afternoon bathroom break. I stayed up in the apartment with Beau. I get a call from Bryan, and I was thinking "oh crap! Annie bit someone!"

To the contrary, Bryan was calling to tell me that Annie, our Annie, was going to be on Channel 2 News!

Khambrel Marshall was at the dog park at Discovery Green, doing a story over a girl who made a ton of dog treats to sell to gain money for the upcoming One Direction concert. He needed a dog to give the treats to and Annie was his girl!

Hank was too scared so you can see him chillin' in the back.

Bernie's Burger Bus

Fuddruckers can officially move over as my Number One burger spot. Number One spot, meet Bernie's Burger Bus.

Nestled right next to a Red Wing shoe store, it is located at 5407 Bellaire Blvd. in Bellaire (south side), and it's hamburger heaven.

It's a brand new restaurant, opened after the much success of its Food Bus, hence the name.

We sat out on the completely shaded patio at some legit picnic tables. Like seriously, I want one of those for my back yard.

We started off with some hand-cut fries for the Beau man.

Then the large order of the Truffle Fries for the grown-ups.

I had the Pre-Schoolers, two tiny ( but not really) burgers with cheddar, lettuce, roasted tomatoes and some sort of onion chutley.

Bryan had the Homeroom with bacon, cheddar, onions, chipotle aioli and a runny egg. He caught it before it got too far.

They also cater, which may be an option for Bryan's next birthday back at the house. We might have to pay extra for the gas though. But it will be totally worth it.

Downtown Aquarium

BeTuesday, July 1st we went to the Downtown Aquarium, located at 410 Bagby Street @ Memorial Drive.

Every Tuesday they do Buy One Get One of their All Day Adventure Pass. Since Beau was free, we only paid $18.99 for admission.

We went around 10 am, just rode our bikes. It was super packed. We met up a former student of mine and his family. It was hard to enjoy it because it was really crowded in the aquarium, so Beau had to be held at all times. And it was so hot outside we couldn't enjoy the games. So we left and returned at about 6 pm since we still had our wrist bands on.

What a difference that made. There were hardly any people around so Beau could run around like a wild man. It was cool
outside so we rode the carousel and the train.
Beau even fed a sting ray! Not really, but he almost touched one.
Probably the coolest was the Siberian White Tiger. There are usually two, but when we went there was only one. We must have visited it close to feeding time because it was pacing back and forth, and would even put it's front paws on the glass. It was really intense.
We had such a great time we plan in going there next Tuesday.

Benihana Downtown

On Friday, June 6th, 2014, we went to Benihana downtown, located off Louisiana Street, downtown. Let's just say Beau is NOT ready to enjoy this kind of restaurant. I'm pretty sure they posted our picture on the door to not let us back in. Ooops!

Sunday Streets

On Sunday, June 1st, 2014, we rode Sunday Streets. This is
an activity that takes place on the first Sunday
in the months of April, May and June.

Our Adventure
They shut down a portion of a street to allow walkers, cyclists,
and even dancers to enjoy the roads without the motor vehicles.

We started the adventure at Market Square (which I mention in the post over Niko Niko's). They shut down Washington Avenue, from Milam street downtown to Studemont in the Heights.

Bryan ( ofcourse!) gets a flat tire! Daniel and Stephanie are just as sad as he is.

This is my favorite picture!

I am very talented... Ride, steer, pedal AND take a selfie!

I LOVE <3 this picture!

Beau fell asleep right when we got back. It's hard work looking THAT cute in a helmet.
